What is its museum like?
The Casa de la Baronía, an unusual three-storey building, houses the municipal museum called the Museo de la Baronía. In the museum we can appreciate interesting collections. On one hand there is the outstanding palaeontological collection with the fossils of insects, flora and vertebrates found in the local archaeological site “La Rinconada” belonging to the Mioceno period and internationally acknowledged for its quality. In it they have so far discovered six species of insects unique in the world.

This collection is completed with a display of vertebrates and invertebrates from all over the world and among them we should highlight the recently inaugurated hall of dinosaurs. On the other hand there is the collection of ceramics from Ribesalbes that includes a reproduction of an ancient artisan workshop with different tools and apparatus and valuable pieces of artistic ceramics with pieces from the 19th century to the present day.

A visit to the ceramics collection of the Museo de la Baronía is complemented with a visit to any of the artisan workshops where, as well as being able to buy true works of art, we can admire the painstaking work of these artists.

They carry through the whole production process of their exquisite pieces completely by hand as it has traditionally been worked in Ribesalbes since far off days.

These workshops are: Alfarería Cerámica Juan Antonio Cano, Cerámica Artística Ted’Or, Cerámicas Crespo, Cerámica Artística Helio, Artesanía Helio, Artesanía Figás, L’antic alfar d’en Solsona and Cerámica Artística Albalat.

Shall we enjoy a fiesta?
On the festivity of San Juan, January 17, they celebrate a procession on horseback and share out the traditional blessed bread roll. On July 10 there is a procession of vehicles in honour of San Cristóbal, the town’s patron saint. In October there are the patron saint fiestas in honour of the Santísimo Sacramento, the Virgen del Rosario and the Santísimo Cristo del Calvario.
