Chilches was founded in Roman times. Several
examples of this are a milestone proving
that the Via Augusta roman road crossed
the town, a bronze statuette of Mercury
and coins from the 3rd century BC.
Starting from Plaza de España
The most representative buildings are situated
in Plaza de España. First is the
Roman origin church devoted to the Assumption
of Mary. The town hall is near the church,
Casa Abadía and Unió fountain.
