Chilches is without a doubt a booming tourist destination. The quality of its two beaches and its complete hotel infrastructure, make this Mediterranean town one of the most sought after locations on Costa Azahar. The sun and beach have replaced agricultural activities for good.

The town is able to offer a complementary tourist choice, with hiking in its valuable natural areas.

Chilches was founded in Roman times. Several examples of this are a milestone proving that the Via Augusta roman road crossed the town, a bronze statuette of Mercury and coins from the 3rd century BC.

Starting from Plaza de España
The most representative buildings are situated in Plaza de España. First is the Roman origin church devoted to the Assumption of Mary. The town hall is near the church, Casa Abadía and Unió fountain.

There are interesting gardens for a placid stroll near the train station and a park for children at Plaza del Jardín. Santíssim Crist de la Junquera chapel is between the town and the beach.

Cerezo and Cases coast
Cerezo and Cases beaches are 2 km away from the town. The first has a gentle slope and fine sand, while the latter has a characteristic area with trees.

A sculpture in honour of fishermen and a monument shaped as an anchor welcome its visitors. Nevertheless, the true attraction is the spectacular 1.5 km long promenade.

Hiking
Poliola, Condesa, Peña Negra, Cantera and Castellàs mountains are ideal for hikers and nature lovers. A stop by the Aljub dels Caçadors well is a must.
Bordering the village by the sea is Marjaleria, a wet area of an important ecological value.
