The town was fortified in the 16th
century. The walls have been recently
renovated, although only two of the
six towers still remain.
The urban centre is presided over
by Santos Juanes church, from the
18th century. The castle is situated
above the town. The fortress has an
irregular plan, three premises and
two towers, one of them known as Agüelet.
Inside there are several archaeological
sites: Corona, Abric de les Cinc,
Almenara castle, Punta del Cid and
Muntanyeta dels Estanys.
At the Museum of the Pious Genoveva
Torres, visitors can see the Creueta,
a Gothic processional cross presiding
over Plaza de la Constitución.
